Schadenfreude is a game made in 5 weeks by second year game development students at Media Design School, NZ. A team of seven people worked on this, five programmers, and two artists. It can also be downloaded from http://www.sendspace.com/file/c78ghv
It was produced using our own engine, using PhysX for physics, and Havok for animation. The video really doesn't do the game justice, please download and try it!
The people in the small town of Mudita are a happy folk. Filled with unmitigated joy they throw celebrations and festivals all year round. The citizens of this small town take great pleasure in the well-being of others. Crime is non-existent in the utopian society of Mudita. Once ruled over by a peaceful and loving baron and his wife. The town was a pendant of virtue and peace. However during a freak sausage eating contest disaster the baron and his wife met their demise, both choking on separate ends of the same sausage simultaneously. Their son "Baron Von Morosa" was left orphaned at the age of six. Alone, the baron was not given the moral up bringing every young child needs. Fuelled by the anger of his parents' death which he blames on the naive indulgence of the Mudita people. His deviance only amplified by the unlimited fortune left to him. The town is now a victim of the barons dastardly schemes. Not accustomed to treachery the villagers are at the baron's mercy.
