Jacareto 0.8.0 is developed to be an interesting as well as helpful capture & replay tool for programs which is written in Java. You can capture actions on applications and replay them later on (like macros). Major Features:Capture & Replay FunctionalityCapturing Mouse Events And Key Events, But Also Window Events, Focus Events, And Many More Event TypesRealtime And Fixed Time ReplayReplaying With A Real Mouse Pointer, A Pseudo Mouse Pointer, Or With No Mouse PointerMarking Locations During ReplayFast Forward ReplayReplaying On Real Applications (Macro Functionality)Selective Replay Of Single Record Parts (Replay Steps)Storing Records In Different Formats (Xml, Serialized). More Formats Will Come In Future.Included Front EndsCleverphl As Comfortable Graphical Front End For Jacareto.Picorder As Command Line Tool For The Fast Capture&Replay-Process.Annotation Of RecordsAdding Text Annotations To The RecordPlay Back Of Audio Clips While Replaying User ActionsGui TestingAdding Test Elements To The RecordCreating Test ReportsStoring Test Reports As Xml FilesBatch ReplayAnalysis Of User BehaviorQualitative Analysis Of User Behavior By Automatically Structuring The RecordDetecting User Behavior On Different LevelsQuantitative Data Analysis By Extracing Data Sets From A Record And Storing Them In A Csv File (Comma Separated Values) Or In A Xls File (Excel Sheet) To Analyze Them In Other Applications (Statistical Software Packages, For Example)Possibility To Define Own Structure Elements Which Represent Special User BehaviorStructure Type Definition For The Specification Of Different Structure MechanismsAnimated DemonstrationsAction Sequences Can Be Replayed To Show Demonstrate Software UsageReplay Processes Can Be Embedded Into Own Software To Include Animated DemonstrationsChanging GuisDrawing Directly On Graphical User Interfaces To Highlight ElementsEnabling And Disabling Of Gui Components Without ProgrammingFlexible Component EngineHandling Of Java Applications And Applets. For Many Target Applications, No Changes In Code Are NecessaryModules Which Handle Special Gui ComponentsAutomatic Inspection Of The Target Application\'s Component HierarchyDetection Of New Components And Changed Component Trees While Capturing And ReplayingPossibility To Set Names Of Components From Outside Without Changing Source CodeModular Structure And ExtensibilityModular Replay Concept: Replay Modules Handle Special Event TypesEvent Masks Help Specifying Which Events Should Be CapturedStarter Modules For Starting The Target ApplicationsEditors For Editing The Record Elements After Events Have Been CapturedInterfaces For Capturing Semantic Events Of The Target ApplicationCustomization And LoggingCustomization With Xml FilesLogging And Debugging With Log4jOpen SourceIt\'s An Open Source Project. You Can Use Jacareto For Free, And You Are Invited To Participate And To Extend The Features Of Jacareto, Cleverphl And Picorder!Enhancements:Jacareto startup changes:You can now run Jacareto with Java 6.You no longer have to set the JACARETO_HOME environment variable to build or start Jacareto. When you downloaded the binary release, you can unpack it and simply startCleverPHL by double-clicking on cleverphl.jar (in Windows) or runningjava -jar cleverphl.jar (in Unix).There\'s a new command line argument for CleverPHL: -ud .With this option you can define the user directory for CleverPHL which is by default the directory \"%USER_PROFILE%cleverphl_data\". Thus, CleverPHL is now portable, because you can specify where your sessions are stored.Small changes in Unix script files (thanks to Peter for the hints!).General capture/replay changes:Added capture/replay support for mouse wheel events.Removed loading bug: Now unstructured records can be loaded.Bug fixed: replayed keys were typed twice in Linux.Added new replay feature: The mouse track can be drawn on the windows. It will slowly fade out after a short time.User interface changes:The message window now has menu items to save the contents, or to copy them to the system clipboard. The selected structure is now highlighted in the dialog where you can choosethe structure.Target application related changes:Added new feature: If your target application resides in an executable JAR file, you can now easily create a starter for it by choosing \"Load executableJAR file\" from the \"New application starter\" dialog.Added new feature: base path. This is especially useful when your target application depends on many external libraries, and you want to distribute it to other people. You can now add an attribute called \"basepath\" to application/applet starters. If you do this, Jacareto will replace any occurence of \"${basepath}\" by that string in the classpathext, captureparams, and replayparams.Your old starters will keep working.Bug fixed: An exception was thrown when the captured application used anSAX XML parser. This was fixed by removing the unused Xerces library from theclasspath. It is now easier for module creators to use custom icons in the structuretree of CleverPHL. Add a \"treeicons\" directory inside your module JAR file, and place your icon files there. You can reference them in the\"StructureTreeIcons\" group of your module.xml.Development related and legal changes:Jacareto\'s license was switched from GPL version 2 to GPL version 3. This was necessary because only v3 is compatible with the Apache License, which is used by some required libraries. The Eclipse configuration files \".project\" and \".classpath\" were added. With them, you can now run CleverPHL directly from Eclipse. Please note that the warning \"System class loader is not theJacareto system class loader\" will show up. You can ignore this warning, but if it annoys you, you can add this VM argument in the Run dialog:-Djava.system.class.loader=jacareto.toolkit.JacaretoSystemClassLoaderReduced dependency on external libraries. JGoodies Forms, ddutils, andjakarta-regexp are no longer required to compile and run Jacareto. Many refactorings and code cleanups.Included NSIS installation scripts to the ant build.Requirements:Java Windows All
