Cast: Veera, Sameera Reddy, Deva, Swapna Abraham Direction: Gautham Vasudev Menon Gautham Vasudev Menon has stepped into an unconventional genre of movie with his latest release Nadunisi Naaygal which is a psycho thriller which is the life of a psychopath with multiple personalities. The below two hours movie is deviated from other genre of movie and the movie deals with the eccentric side of human mind and human behavior. Nadunisi Naaygal runs at a fast pace and keeps the audience in tact. The experimental movie of Gautham is not unlike his romantic flicks with songs that will please you. If you are ready for expecting something from the director then Nadunisi Naaygal is for you. The movie does not have no songs and background music; still it threatens you without the necessity elements. The movie can also be called an ode to Bharathiraja’s Kamal Haasan classic Sigappu Rojakkal (1978). The core of the movie is almost the same but the way of handling is totally different and very modern. The movie is totally alien to him and his kind of movies. Samar aka Veera (Veera) plays the role of a psychopath in the movie, watches his dad indulging in sex with many women after his mother passes away. Seeing this sexual acts and being sexual abused, Veera is highly impacted by these. Meenakshi (Meenakshi) who lives next door, wanting to take care of the boy, so she reports to the police about what is happening. Knowing this Veera's father commits suicide. Though he is taken care of Meenakshi, the sexual libido and animal instinct in him misleads him. The limelight of the movie is the keen sketching of the cast. The psychopath makes a lasting impression in the movie and each and every single character of the movie is stunning. Sameera's role is to be mentioned as she plays the role of feisty, frightened and helpless girl. The technical aspect of the movie is really good and the camera work of Manoj Paramahamsa is awesome and every shot is taken care as the movie takes place in one night. The movie looks very appealing and editing by Antony is really superb. The movie is specially made for the A class people and for an elite multiplex audiences as camera movement and narration is typical Hollywood in style and technique. The movie is not strictly for family audience. The movie has its own loopholes in the movie about logicality as of how the psychopath makes his living in such a bungalow with no servants. Applause to the director who tried a psycho thriller which is new in its technical aspects cause the ace director BharathiRaja has tried in the yesteryears.
