<span style="font-size:1.17em"><span style="color:deepskyblue">The Dolls were one of the main progenitors of the New York punk scene. They took their cue from The Stooges among others. But it was their visual style that influenced many of the new wave bands that emerged in the 80s as well as put the glam in glam rock. Their self-titled debut which was released in 1973 was a fusion of protopunk, rock and roll and as obvious from the album cover, glam rock.
Some critics believe that the New York Dollsâ™ contribution has been overstated.... </span></span>
