Nero Burning ROM is a true-blue CD burning software package. Unlike most applications (which focus on copying and burning DVDs), Nero pays special attention to plain old compact discs. It comes with audio file conversion, basic audio editing and a flexible drag-and-drop interface. We recommend this application to music lovers that don\'t require DVD functionality. It can copy DVDs, but it doesn’t have decryption and is therefore less flexible than the best CD burning software with DVD functionality. If you just want to burn CDs, you will enjoy Nero\'s feature set and clean interface.
Nero Burning ROM juggles compact discs like a pro. It creates perfect CD clones and can even convert the files to different formats, which can make your music accessible on a variety of devices. As if that were not enough, it even allows you to edit and record music.
The DVD options are a little more limited. It doesn\'t allow you to edit DVD content – you can only make 1:1 copies. That ability would be more useful if it came with a decryptor for Hollywood movies. Unfortunately, it does not. If you already have a large library of unencrypted home videos, Nero is good (though it can take an hour or two to burn a full-capacity DVD). It also works well for burning data DVDs. As a side note, you can also use Nero to record television shows if your computer has a built-in TV tuner.
We love Nero\'s drag-and-drop interface. It makes the process of assembling custom CDs a pleasant and user-friendly experience. Once you\'ve dragged all the desired files to the burn tray, you\'re just one button away from a finished disc. Advanced features can be found in the startup menu, with more complicated tasks towards the bottom. Nero is certainly one of the easiest-to-use CD burning applications on the market.
